Research Fellow Position
A post-doctoral research fellow
position is available at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences,
Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey. The position is supported by the European
Commission through a Marie Curie International Reintegration Grant on "Information
Processing Techniques for Imaging Sensors and Wireless Sensor Networks."
Priority will be given to candidates who have experience and interest in developing
statistical inference and data fusion algorithms for wireless sensor networks.
However candidates who can contribute to other aspects of the project, namely
sparse-aperture image formation, computer vision, and medical image analysis
will also be considered. The ideal candidate should have (or be about to complete)
a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and
should have a strong background in one or more of the following areas: statistical
signal processing, data fusion, distributed estimation, sensor networks, inverse
problems, image analysis, optimization theory. The fellow will have the opportunity
to initiate and lead new research efforts, perform collaborative work with
a number of researchers around the world, co-supervise graduate student theses,
and publish in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. This
is a two-year position, with a possibility of extension depending on the availability
of funds and the performance of the fellow. There are no citizenship requirements.
