Current Research

Currently, I work on several problems with some students and my co-authors. When a problem appears below, it usually means that there exists a written manuscript. A manuscript may vary quite a lot from a problem to another. One manuscript may only include a sketch of ideas, another may be just one-day-work away from being submitted. Below is a list of these problems:

• Guarding guards problem: visibility and coverage.
• Emission and the traffic assignment problem: bilevel programming approach.
• Solving the sum of ratios problem with a global optimization search method.
• Client-contractor bargaining problem.
• Portfolio problems with elliptical distributions.
• Robust crew pairing.
• Airline revenue management.

I am also involved with several research projects. Naturally, some of the listed problems above came from these projects:

• Decision support tools for waste management (supported by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality).
• Robust airline crew pairing: models and solution algorithms (supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey).
• MANGO: Multi-Agent eNvironment for Global Optimization (supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey).
