The principal investigator of the Functional Surfaces Lab is Prof. Gozde Ozaydin Ince who is a faculty member in the Materials Science and Nanoengineering Program at Sabancı University.
In the Functional Surfaces Lab, we use chemical vapor deposition techniques to fabricate ultra thin films and nanostructures of polymers that are responsive to temperature, pH or light stimuli. We focus on the applications of these polymeric nanostructures in membrane technologies, in biotechnology as molecular nanocarriers or as coatings to control surface wetting. We also study conductive polymeric nanostructures with potential applications in biosensors and flexible electronics.
