  • Objective of the Course: The objective is to introduce a basic knowledge of conventional photography and its use within the digital realm, covering all primary skills required for the production of photographic representation.
  • Prerequisites: VA 201, VA 202

·         Course Contents: Students will first recognize the similarities and differences between conventional and digital photography. Then, the course will proceed mostly as an advanced-level course in producing photography by taking advantage of digital technologies and computer imaging. Students will learn to process photographic images for different purposes such as; use of photography in multimedia presentations / desktop publishing and documenting fine art. Works of contemporary and classical masters will be shown through the development of the class and students will be expected to submit weekly assignments to be discussed in class. Gallery visits, off-class readings and in-class discussions are encouraged.
